Is TRIAD an independent reseller, a VAR, or reseller?

Triad Computer Connection has declined VAR status for two very important reasons:

1) Geographic Limitations HP & SUN impose geographic limitations on their value-added resellers. TRIAD typically partners with Fortune 500 clients, who are broadly dispersed throughout the United States. Imposing a “territory” restriction would negatively impact our business.

2) Pricing  TRIAD does not want to be encumbered by a manufacturer’s dictated pricing strategy. We believe IT hardware prices should be driven by worldwide market supply & demand conditions…. a “cost-plus” model rather than the industry standard, “retail price minus your corporate discount”. Our “cost-plus” pricing strategy applies to new (a.k.a. unused), OEM re-manufactured and re-marketed equipment. 
 

What are my maintenance options?

It’s important to note that you have 3 options for support:

1) Add the equipment to your current support contract  HP/SUN will initially fight this.  Once they acknowledge that the customer is “in charge” and become aware that the customer may consider other support options if not treated fairly, they will relent and put the equipment under support. These manufacturers support reseller-sourced equipment in Fortune 50 accounts. You deserve to be treated with similar service and respect.

2) Use Third Party Maintenance  Most OEM’s subcontract a significant amount of their maintenance to national service providers. If you want to explore this option, TRIAD can partner with the most eligible 3rd party support company to provide a comprehensive support solution, usually at a fraction of the cost of OEM support service. 

3) Self Maintain  More companies are moving to this model.  TRIAD sells spares and/or additional equipment which many of our clients store on-site.  Since many components are “hot swappable”, many TRIAD clients are comfortable with this “spares” program for some applications.

 

Will the local manufacture sales representative get paid a commission if I buy the equipment from TRIAD? 

TRIAD is not a VAR and so our sales do not factor into a VAR’s sales quota.  This is the OEM’s and VAR’s compensation issue…not yours.  If your channel sales rep had offered their absolute best pricing upfront, then chances are you wouldn’t have felt the need to turn to an independent re-seller.  Since TRIAD buys a significant portion of our inventory from the channel on a global basis, a manufacturer’s sales representative was probably remunerated.  He/she just doesn’t reside in your locale!

 

I have HP3000 data that needs to be converted to UNIX.  Can Triad help?

TRIAD has the technical expertise at hand for HP 3000 conversions.  We can do the work for you so that you not only get the data conversion needed, you also get the right hardware for the conversion and our expertise to make it run flawlessly as well.

 

Does Triad provide an IP SAN solution?

IP SAN is one of the fastest growing technologies today.  TRIAD can assist you with the purchase and implementation of this product.
